Dear Parents,
I am writing to inform you of some changes we need to make regarding school meals. Like most schools in Lincolnshire we have seen a reduction in pupil numbers and as a result our budget has reduced.
Because government funding for free school meals is so low it doesn’t nearly cover the cost of their production. In recent years the annual loss to the school has exceeded twenty thousand pounds, this has been made worse by the increase in energy costs.
As a result, we need to reduce costs; so after Christmas we will be changing the menu and reducing the number of options available. I know this may be an inconvenience but sadly it is a choice we have had to make.
New menus will be published before we break up for Christmas. The deadline for ordering meals for week commencing 6th January 2025 will be Tuesday 31st December 2024. I would like to kindly remind you that it is the responsibility of the parent to order children's meals so, if you realise you have missed the above deadline you will need to send your child/ren in with a packed lunch as we will not be able to supply ad hoc meals for the first day of term.
