Brazilian Samba - January 2024

We were lucky enough to have another Musician in Residence day. Tim taught us how to play Samba rhythm. It was very noisy but enjoyed by all!

In February we were lucky to take part in Taiko Drumming workshops. Each class performed on the drums. We practised passing the banshee in a respectful way, playing rhythm and patterns on the drums and learnt that to be a good Taiko drummer we needed to think strong and powerful.

In October Class Four visited Snipedales Country Park to study river systems. The children followed the course of a stream from its source and later visited the mouth of the river at Gibraltar Point. The children investigated sediment, erosion and deposition. They tested water quality by carrying out an invertebrate survey. They caught some really large crayfish.

Harvest Festival 1st October 2021

We were delighted to be able to bring the community together in St Oswald's Church for the first time since March 2020. There was an amazing display of fresh produce including a large amount grown by Walcott pupil Joe. The children sang beautifully and it was a lovely return to normality. The dry produce kindly donated by families will go to the Lincoln Community Larder.

In September 2021 year six children from both schools in the federation visited PLG Caythorpe Court for a two day residential visit. They took part in a range of outward bound and adventurous activities with a focus on team building, developing resilience and having jolly good fun!
